Doug, as the founder of O’Rear & Associates, works with a select number of existing clients and their referrals, serving as a resource to and the team leader of his associates. His focus is a holistic one – meaning he sees financial planning as a relationship based process, not a presentation of products/sales approach.
Currently a branch manager for his broker-dealer Woodbury Financial Services, he received his B.S. from Samford University and his M.A. from the University of Alabama. He has completed extensive graduate work at the University of Alabama and the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. He is a Certified Financial Planning Practitioner.
He is a frequent management and financial consultant with various for profit and non-profit organizations. His business experience includes: personnel administration with the Alabama Power Company, The University of Alabama, and the former First American Bank in Nashville. He was also an Assistant Professor of Business at Belmont University. He has been involved in financial planning since 1980 and had his own firm since 1983.
Doug is a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Middle Tennessee Financial Planning Association, having served in leadership and officer roles with both.
He is married to Jane Crisp with 4 children and 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
